ROANOKE, Va. - It what turned out to be one of Hollins' best defensive games of the season, it was Randolph that came away with a win, taking down HU 2-0 at Marjorie T. Berkley Field.
How It Happened
Randolph got on the board early, as Sara Bane took advantage of a defensive miscue to put the WildCats ahead 1-0. Hollins clamped down and didn't allow a goal for the final 36 minutes of the first half.
The WildCats added an insurance goal in the 57th minute but it was Kendra Rich who had the highlight of the match for Hollins. Randolph's Mary Dorman was awarded a penalty kick at the 69:55 mark. She took a shot low and to the left but Rich guessed right and made a diving stop to keep the deficit at two.
Unfortunately, Hollins (4-7, 0-4 ODAC) wasn't able to get anything going offensively.
Rich finished the match with 13 saves.
Hollins will hit the road on Tuesday and travel to Eastern Mennonite for a night match. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 pm.
