WASHINGTON D.C. - After losing a heartbreaker to open the season, as well as almost a week between games, it would have been understandable for Hollins to come out a little flat against Trinity on Friday.
But if you thought that would happen, you'd be wrong. Hollins jumped on Trinity early and behind a big night from Yasmine Tyler, Hollins picked up their first win of the season, 75-31 over Trinity.
HU dominated the first half of play, leading the Tigers 39-7 at the break before putting up 36 in the second half.
Tyler finished two rebounds shy of a double-double, leading all scorers with 19 points and adding eight rebounds. Keenan Surles also scored in double-digits, dropping 14 and shooting a lights out 4-6 from behind the arc. Cecelia Riddle was the other HU player in double figures, adding 10. Serena Lytton had a solid night, picking up nine points and seven rebounds. In total, nine different players scored for the Green and Gold.
Hollins will be back at home on Wednesday as they open ODAC play against Lynchburg. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 pm.
