Misenheimer, NC - For the second time this week, the Hollins basketball team went on the road in search of picking up an early season victory. After struggling against Salem College in her opener, Hollins traveled back to North Carolina to face Pfeiffer University on Friday night.

The Falcons used a big first quarter to race out to a double-digit lead over their visitors from Roanoke. During the second 10 minutes of play, the Hollins offense played much better, recording 13 points, but they couldn't get enough stops to stay close. At the half, the home team enjoyed a sizable lead, 45-17. After shooting over 44% for the period, Hollins looked to build some momentum in the early stages of the second half. However, the Pfeiffer defense made it hard for Hollins to make up any ground as the Falcons held their guests to just 20% shooting in a third period that allowed the home team to put the game out of reach. The defense for the green and gold played much better than in the season opener, holding the Falcons to just over 31% shooting, but couldn't get enough on the offensive end, falling to 0-2 to start the season.

First-year forward Keyazia Taylor led all scorers with 11 points. Taylor added eight rebounds and four blocked shots while senior Deana Campbell scored four to go with her team high 10 boards. Chesslyn Owens registered seven points, three rebounds and two assists.

The Falcons saw all 14 players score led by Grayson Harris. Harris led the way with 10 points, 10 rebounds, and four blocked shots in just 16 minutes of play.

Hollins will face one last road test in advance of the Thanksgiving Break when they travel to face Averett University on Tuesday night.
