Hollins Wins Home Finale

Roanoke, VA - For the third time in a week, and the final time this season, Hollins looked to defend her home courts at the Batten Tennis Center. Having bested a pair of Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) foes over the past two home matches, Hollins stepped out of conference one last time when they hosted Trinity Washington University on Thursday afternoon.

The home team went to work early, taking all three doubles matches with only surrendering two games in total. Jhovanna Salmeron and Htet Myat San won at the top spot while the duos of Amelia Verkerk and Sarah Jordan Snoddy along with Kateri Johnson and Casey Mahan earned 8-0 victories.

In singles play, Hollins won each of the six matches without dropping a set. Salmeron, San, Johnson, and Snoddy all picked up their second win of the afternoon. Olivia Dannon notched a victory at #2 while Elizabeth Rochow wrapped up a perfect day with a win at the #6 spot.

Hollins will play her biggest match of the season on Saturday when they travel to face Shenandoah University in Winchester. With a win, Hollins will all but wrap up a spot in the eight team, ODAC Tournament.
