ODAC Soccer Coaches Pick Hollins 13th

Hollins was picked 13th in the 2018 ODAC Women's Soccer preseason poll

The Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) announced their 2018 Women's Soccer Preseason Poll on Tuesday afternoon. The conference coaches voted and Hollins was picked to finish 13th, one spot ahead of their arch rivals from Sweet Briar.

A familiar squad returns to the top of the ODAC Women's Soccer Preseason Poll as defending champion University of Lynchburg earned #1 billing in the annual survey of the league's head coaches. The Hornets garnered 163 points powered by seven first place votes, while Virginia Wesleyan University trails closely behind with 155 tallies including five top nods. Washington and Lee University takes up third with 140 markers, while Bridgewater College picked up the remaining two first place votes on the way to 137 points to rank fourth.

Hollins will enter the season returning 11 player including all of their 2017 statistical leaders. Mallory Jengo is back from her senior campaign after leading the team in goals (4) and points (9) from a season ago. Fellow senior Ciera Morris and junior Miranda Springston tied for team lead in assists while goal keeper Kendra Rich returns after leading the ODAC with 224 saves.

Hollins will kick off the 2018 season at home on Friday, August 31st when they host Piedmont International on Marjorie T. Berkley Field.
